🛑 HCE PTO Buzz & Browse Market – Seller Guidelines & Prohibited Items
We’re excited to host our PTO Parking Lot Market! To keep the event safe, respectful, and school-appropriate for all families, please review the following rules. Sellers must agree to these guidelines when signing up. Violators will be asked to leave or escorted off the premises.
🚫 Prohibited Items
The following may not be sold, displayed, or given away:
Weapons or items resembling weapons Including real or toy guns, knives, swords, or anything that could be perceived as a weapon.
Items with offensive language, imagery, or messages This includes profanity, hate speech, or inappropriate humor.
Political or religious promotional materials Out of respect for our diverse school community, we ask that sellers refrain from distributing or selling materials that promote specific political or religious viewpoints.
Recalled or unsafe items Please do not sell items that have been recalled for safety reasons (e.g., certain toys or baby gear).
Broken electronics or appliances Unless clearly marked "for parts only," non-working items are not allowed.
Opened, expired, or homemade food No food sales are allowed by vendors unless pre-approved by PTO. (This is to align with health and school safety regulations.)
Prescription or over-the-counter medications These may not be sold or given away under any circumstances.
Used personal hygiene items or cosmetics Including makeup, skincare, toothbrushes, razors, etc.
Toys with choking hazards or missing parts Especially small parts not suitable for children under 3 years.
✅ Other Guidelines
One parking space per seller: $15 per spot.
Sellers must provide their own tables, chairs, and displays.
No electricity or water access will be provided.
All items and trash must be cleaned up by the seller at the end of the event. Sellers are responsible for tidying their own space.
If sellers have items they wish to donate instead of taking back home, there will be a designated donation drop-off area on-site.
The PTO and school are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
Sales must be conducted within the seller’s assigned parking space. (No blocking fire lanes, entrances, or neighboring spots.)
Noise levels should be kept reasonable. (No loud music, megaphones, or amplified announcements.)
No smoking or vaping on school property.
Pets must be leashed and supervised at all times.
Event hours and setup/tear-down times will be communicated. Please respect these times to avoid disrupting neighbors.
Payment methods are the seller’s responsibility. (Cash is common, but please plan accordingly.)
This is a family-friendly event on school grounds — please keep it appropriate.
